SYF finally ended... but the results waas not we had expected... pratically no one expected that kind of results... we at least deserved to have at least a GOLD award...
so let's hear wat the judges had to say.... " angklung kulintang ensemble shld play more traditional music like gamelan music" "must be more traditional cos is traditional instruments" "interesting performing... enjoyed alot as the music industry for angklung kulintang ensemble is still develpoing" blah blah blah...
firstly, come on larx judges... 2 years ago you all said you wanted something new and wanted more moves... so there go get it... every sch were swaying away with the music... " some school move at the wrong part of the music... inappropriate" it's quite true for some schools larx... cos it's like they force out the movement of the songs...
next, "SYF is a festival as it's singapore youth festival... it's not a competition to see who is better or wat... so shld really be concern abt the results and such..." then come on larx.. this whole programme shldn't be called Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging... dont even give out awards in the first place... just give comments abt each school's performace will do....
next "TRADITIONAL" wtf... I tot nowadays everyone wanted something creative? no? playing a western/ contemporary song on tradition instruments such as angklungs are no easy feat you noe... really test us on our techniques and staminas... playing such songs on traditional instruments are a breakthrough in the angklung kulintang ensemble industry... didnt you all said 2 years ago that you all wanted more varitey... more texture... more different ways of playing the traditional instruments? so stop changing those criteria on the spot... i'm really pissed of at wat they said during the dialouge... then wat got 1 judge said that " traditonal songs like gamelan songs... gamelan this gamelan that..." WTF!! we are not a gamelan CCA.... the whole performace does not centralise on gamelan lehx... so why shld you even tok about gamelan in the first place... seriously...
those who gotten gold played traditional songs that day... while other schools like siglap who choose to play at least one non-traditional songs like "when you believe" had gotten a sliver.... crap... wat is this...
they are always contraditing themselves... at first want this then the next moment they want that... there is no standardisation in the things that they do... no wonder singapore music industry is always like this... no talents... be it in the traditional aspect or the contemporary kind... hiax...
i'm so shocked at the results that i cant take it any longer and i went to slp early yesterday nite... haix... today i'm still so tired about tilll....
damn it...
